Serving American Veterans Every Day!

The buses are loaded and headed to the National Press Club for Aleethia’s February 3, 2017 “Friday Night Dinner” sponsored by The American Legion.

Louis Celli, Director of National Veteran Affairs & Rehabilitation Division welcomed and thanked the service members on behalf of the American Legion. Mr. Celli spoke about various programs and assistance available with VA benefits, health care issues and more.

Over 76 wounded/injured/ill service members, plus their families and guests enjoyed a delicious four-course dinner including a “huge” porterhouse steak dinner.

The American Legion’s “Operation Comfort Warriors” program provided grant items of $25 Amazon gift cards for all wounded/injured/ill service members in attendance and door prizes of Samsung Galaxy tablets, exercise resistance bands and hand dumbbells!

A special thank you goes to the volunteers of “Freedom Petals” who provided floral arrangements for the tables and to take back to Walter Reed Military Medical Center, Fisher Houses and others. The room was filled with excited smiles upon receiving the flowers.

Children helped with drawing raffle tickets, distributing goodie bags and more….

Besides Aleethia’s volunteer photographer Ryan Hughes, USMC Ret., taking photos at tonight’s Friday dinner … one of the service member’s son, William Connelly Howes took some photos of boarding the buses, arrival, announcements, toasting and more for class credits.

The Aleethia Foundation greatly appreciates the 13 years of partnership and continuous support of THE AMERICAN LEGION. Thank you for another amazing and wonderful evening!
