Operation Comfort Warriors!
The American Legion’s “Operation Comfort Warriors” program hosted Aleethia’s “Friday Night Dinner” at the National Press Club. OCW is a program dedicated to meeting the needs of wounded, injured or ill military personnel by providing them with comfort items not usually supplied by the government.
The American Legion’s OCW Director, James Ellison, met with each every service member and their families. James conducted a drawing for two Samsung Galaxy tablets and presented to all service members an Amazon gift card and OCW caps.
Over 90 wounded/injured/ill service members, plus their families and guests enjoyed a “huge” porterhouse steak dinner.
We celebrated three birthdays tonight…
…including the birthday of Aleethia’s Founder and Executive Director Hal Koster! Friends shared stories of Hal and beginning years of the “Friday Night Dinners.” They surprised Hal with presentations of a personalized flight jacket and personalized “door gunner” challenge coins. Of course, Hal being a humble man requested a “two minute rebuttal!!!”
Thank you American Legion/OCW for a wonderful dinner and all you do for the wounded/injured/ill service members!
