Where News happens!

Aleethia’s “Friday Night Dinner” for June 12th was sponsored by donations received in honor of Jim Mayer’s 46th Alive Day. Hal Koster & Jim (“Milkshake Man”) began the dinners in October 2003 to give the wounded/injured service members recovering at Walter Reed Army Medical Center a night away from the hospital. These dinners are an integral part of the healing process. A celebration of Jim’s Alive Day is held each April and Jim asked his guests to make a voluntary donation to support the Aleethia’s “Friday Night Dinners.”

We were happy to have Andrew Lourake join us for dinner. Andrew and his wife, Lisa were Peer Volunteers at WRAMC and part of the “Friday Night Dinners” that started in October 2003. Since moving to Florida in 2009, they have continued to support service members in the Tampa Area. Andrew is now part of Veterans Airlift Command. VAC is a nonprofit organization of aircraft owners that provide free transportation to severely injured service members using their own aircraft.

Over 25 wounded/injured/ill service members, plus their families and guests enjoyed a four course dinner at the National Press Club.

Thanks to Jim and his wonderful friends for supporting Aleethia’s programs.
