A Special Night!
It was a special night as 65 wounded/injured/ill service members, family members and guests enjoyed a wonderful dinner, a birthday, a farewell, a salute to caregivers and a special gift from Trinity Lutheran students.
It was a bittersweet moment as we bid farewell to our dear friend Col. Charles “Chuck” Scoville USA Ret and his wife Di. After 25 years of military service, over 9 years as Chief of Amputee Patient Care at WRAMC and 3 years as Chief of Department of Rehabilitation at WRNMMC, Chuck has retired and accepted his new title of “Grampa!” We will miss you and Di!
From a Caregiver to a Caregiver!
Amanda Keaton, an art teacher at Trinity Lutheran School in Paw Paw MI delivered goodie bags filled by their students who had raised money, bought snacks etc. to fill bags for 75 wounded/injured/ill service members recovering at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Amanda told the group that each child took great pride in doing something for “you … a person who has done so much for them.”
A special thank you is extended to the Capitol Hill Club and their staff for a great dinner and a wonderful night away from the hospital.
