An Evening of Celebrations and Remembrance!

The Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control participated in the “2015 Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum” program to benefit the Aleethia Foundation’s programs supporting the wounded/injured/ill service members recovering at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

Jeffrey Painter, Chairman of the Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control and Reed Davis, District Manager of Virginia & South Carolina with William Grant & Sons joined 34 wounded/injured/ill service members and their 54 family members, caregivers and guests for Aleethia’s September 11th “Friday Night Dinner.”

Chairman Painter & Mr. Davis met and spoke with every service member during the evening and presented each with a special gift. Since 2012, the “Sailor Jerry Program” through the ABC stores of Virginia have raised over $31,800 for the Aleethia Foundation.

Hal Koster introduced several special guests, including Jennifer Griffin with Fox News Channel, Elizabeth Williamson with Wall Street Journal, Steve Danyluk USMC Ret.

We were honored to have several Vietnam Veterans from the 174th Assault Helicopter Company join us for this special evening.

It’s “Friday Night Dinner”… three Birthdays were celebrated.

Our “younger guests” are always welcomed!

In remembering the events of September 11, 2001, we took a moment of silence to remember all our fellow Americans who lost their lives on that day and the “Fallen Comrade Ceremony” was held to honor our fallen comrades in arms.

Again, we wish to thank the ABC stores of Virginia for their efforts in making this year’s “Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum” program a great success and we look forward to our continuing partnership!!!
