Ambassador Kim Beazley hosted his eighth “Aleethia’s Friday Night Dinner” at the Australian Embassy on October 16, 2015

Over 43 wounded/injured/ill service members plus their families and guests enjoyed an evening filled with a wonderful dinner, a buffet of “Australian” cuisine … delectable desserts…musical entertainment … plus the outstanding hospitality of the Aussies. A raffle was held and two lucky winners received an official Australian “slouch” military hat.

Cameron McCarthy, who appeared in an Aboriginal loincloth and body paint, performed the unique sounds of a Didgeridoo and then asked for volunteers to try the Didgeridoo … which made for some interesting sounds!

Australian singer, Rick Price opened his selection of songs with “Waltzing Matilda” …

Specials thanks to the Embassy staff who planned, set up, served, assisted and so much more. We thank our Australian friends for a most enjoyable and memorable evening! “Thanks Mate … G’night!”
