Shoshana Bryen

Back to Who We Are

Shoshana Bryen, a defense and foreign policy analyst, is Senior Director of the Jewish Policy Center.

Formerly Senior Director for Security Policy at JINSA, Ms. Bryen was the author of the widely read and re-published JINSA Reports. She has worked with the Strategic Studies Institute of the US Army War College and the Institute for National Security Studies in Tel Aviv, and has lectured at the National Defense University. Since 1982, Ms. Bryen has traveled to the Middle East with American military professionals to facilitate high-level, professional discussion of issues that both unite and divide the US, Israel and Jordan. In 1988, she created a program to take cadets and midshipmen of American service academies to Israel for a three-week work/study program that has been incorporated as a formal internship of all three academies and permitted hundreds of future officers to have an in-depth, positive experience in Israel. Ms. Bryen has also taken Israeli and Turkish military officers to speak at all three service academies and has lectured in the academies as well. Her work has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Sun, Defense News and other outlets, as well as in JINSA Reports.

Mrs. Bryen has been Associate Editor of "Public Opinion" magazine of the American Enterprise Institute, worked on Capitol Hill, and taught speech communication in Washington DC colleges and universities.

Since 2004, Mrs. Bryen has been instrumental in raising over $300,000 for The Aleethia Foundation.
