Summertime in the City!!!

It was a hot “Friday Night” on July 18th but a “cool” dining room was waiting for over 91 wounded/injured service members, their families and guests at the Capitol Hill Club.

We thanked a recently retired Marine for his 21 years of dedicated service, welcomed six first timers and three returning service members….

Aleethia’s “toy chest” was filled with cars, toys, games, coloring books and more for our 17 little guests to play with!!!!

10 Lucky “door prize” winners….

Special Guests Lyla and Liberty from America’s VetDogs were introduced by their veterans. The mission of America’s VetDogs is to help those who have served our country honorably, live with dignity and independence. America’s VetDogs is an assistance dog program that uses guide dogs, service dogs and innovative training techniques to enhance the lives of disabled veterans of all eras – from World War II to those recently wounded in active conflicts abroad – and active duty personnel deployed far from home.

The dining room was filled with beautiful flower arrangements provided by the volunteers of “Freedom Petals.” Service members, wives, moms, caregivers were all given an arrangement to take home with them.

Aleethia wishes to thank the Chef at Capitol Hill Club for the delicious steak dinners, vegetarian entrees and the chicken tenders for the children! As always, the service was outstanding and the staff was very accommodating and helpful with our many special requests. Thanks Capitol Hill Club for making this a wonderful and memorable night for all!
