96 years of Service.... A Million Thanks!

The American Legion’s “Operation Comfort Warriors” program hosted Aleethia’s “Friday Night Dinner” on July 31 at the National Press Club. OCW is a program dedicated to meeting the needs of wounded, injured or ill military personnel by providing them with comfort items not usually supplied by the government.

Bruce Drake, Assistant Director of Troop & Family Support from American Legion Headquarters met with each every service member and their families. Bruce conducted a drawing and presented a Samsung Galaxy tablet to four lucky winners! Also, joining us were two members from the American Legion Post 8 who have been involved with partnering with Aleethia in various events.

Over 85 wounded/injured/ill service members, plus their families and guests enjoyed a “huge” porterhouse steak dinner. Our “little guests” enjoyed playing with cars and coloring books.

Michele and Barbara from “Freedom Petals” provided over 27 floral arrangements for the tables and for service members and caregivers to take back with them. We thank “Freedom Petals” for filling the room

Also, John Walsh, William Grant & Sons’ District Manager for MD/DC/DE and his lovely family joined us for dinner. In 2010, John selected the Aleethia Foundation for a charity to be involved with the annual “Sailor Jerry Rum” program. We are truly thankful for being part of this wonderful program.

A huge THANK YOU is extended to THE AMERICAN LEGION/OCW for a wonderful and fun evening!
