A Night of Surprises!
The American Legion’s Operation Comfort Warriors (OCW) program provided Amazon gift cards, water bottles and baseball caps to more than 40 patients from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, who attended Aleethia’s “Friday Night Dinner” hosted by the American Legion at the National Press Club in Washington DC.
Operation Comfort Warriors is a program dedicated to meeting the needs of wounded, injured or ill military personnel by providing them with comfort items not usually supplied by the government. OCW ensures that patients at U.S. military hospitals and warrior transition units are given items like sweat suits, DVDs, gift cards and more. Thanks OCW for all you do and for hosting the “Friday Night Dinner!”
The evening was filled with special surprises including a service member returning from Afghanistan to surprise her husband who was injured months ago in Afghanistan. He surprised his wife with a “diamond ring” that he was unable to present at their marriage ceremony.
